The 78 guest rooms offer views of either the ocean, columnar basalt sea stacks, or the nearby mountains and come with either twin or double beds. 36 of the double rooms, as well as the 5 triple rooms and the 5 family rooms (located on the ground floor), are designed in a contemporary, nature-inspired style by noted Icelandic architect Guðbjörg Magnúsdóttir. Every room comes with blackout curtains, a wardrobe, complimentary WiFi, a flat-screen TV, telephone, desk, coffee, and tea. Furthermore, each room’s large bathroom offers a walk-in tiled shower, towels, a hairdryer, and both natural and organic skincare products that are made in Iceland from wild herbs.
Hótel Vík í Mýrdal is a perfect starting point for heading out to explore the magnificent but peaceful Vik village and its surrounding Myrdalur Valley on super jeep and snowmobiling tours. Check-in starts from 16:00 and check-out is until 11:00. In case you arrive late - do not worry! Our front desk is open 24/7. Please note, early check- in or late check-out is subject to availability.

No, we do not offer a shuttle service. There is also public transportation and the bus stop is within walking distance.
How can I find the hotel?

Is the hotel suitable for children?
Yes, all guests are welcome at Hotel Vik i Myrdal. In fact, we offer family rooms which have 2 floors - 1 double bed in the ground floor, and 2 separate beds and a separate television upstairs.
What is the difference between a double and a twin room?
A double room has one queen size bed or similar, preferable for a couple. A twin room has two single beds.
Can I have dinner at the hotel and what can I expect for dinner?
Yes, we serve dinner in our inhouse restaurant BERG. Icelandic cuisine with a twist.
What is the difference between a standard and a double superior room?
Standard rooms are located on the ground floor and have limited views. The size is approximately 17m2. Superior double rooms are located on the higher floor and have a size of 23m2. Please note that our family superior and triple superior rooms are located on the ground floor only.
Is breakfast included in the price?
With all hotel room bookings, buffet breakfast is included in the price.
Can I get an extra bed added to my room?
Extra beds are subject to availability and can only be added in our superior double room category. The cost of extra bed is 8000 ISK/night. Please request the double bed before your arrival.
